I’m back from ThinkQuest Live. I must say that the event is one of the few big moments in my life. That amazing atmosphere of meeting different people from different backgrounds. Meeting, face to face, for the first time, to people you’ve worked with for six months and known like if we’ve known each others since we were born, is truly an everlasting experience. You feel that you’re no different to others. You leave your identities for a while. You are part of the world. There’s no country. There’s no religion. There’s no difference, at all. It is this feeling of ‘melting into the pot’ that I’ve always enjoyed.
The event itself was totally exciting. The people were nice and helpful. They’re almost perfect as a team. Although only for 3 days, it was impressive. The food was great and overall, I would give them five stars out of five rating. They succeeded in making me to crave for more San Francisco.
What is ThinkQuest Live?
ThinkQuest Live is the official awards event for the Oracle ThinkQuest competition organised by the Oracle Education Foundation. It is an event for the winners of the competition, and for the October 2003 period it was held in San Francisco, California in conjunction with Oracle OpenWorld conference. About a hundred and more students and coaches as well as parents/chaperones attended the event during December 4 - 7, 2004. They came from 11 different countries and all continents. This site is my personal account of the event based on my perspectives. I am myself a winner of the competition. Take a look at my winning site.
